Great Reads

Things Not Seen

I thought this was a great book. This had a little fantasy but could pass as a realistic fiction book. This book was suspenseful every chapter until the end. This book made you think that anyone could be invisible. Invisibility might be fun at first but Clements showed how the main character detested being unseen. This was also a real life book about hard choices many people have to make every day. I would suggest this book to anyone who likes reading realistic fiction or a "could happen" kind of book.

Rewind

The book was interesting because the reader never knew what was going to happen next. Peter's father seemed to always want him to be like other boys. I think his father should have appreciated him for who he was. I would recommend this book to kids who like mysterious adventures with many twists.

Touching Spirit Bear

I think the book Touching Spirit Bear is a wonderful book for both kids and adults because it teaches kids about consequences of their actions. When Cole Mathews goes to the island he finds that nature is much bigger than himself. For example, the encounter with the gigantic white "spirit" bear teaches him he needs to deal with his anger. I recommend that all ages read this book because of the powerful lessons it teaches.
